Welcome! My name is Jason Kerchner, and thanks for visiting! If you're new here, you may want learn a little more about my story.
You may have seen business opportunities like this online… “Let me teach you how to make $90,000 in three months” and “How I turned $100 into $100,000 in only one week!” These stories may be true, but the implied message is that the person responding to the offer is guaranteed to have the same success as the person making the offer. The reality is that this may not be the case.
When you absolutely MUST win, then you shouldn’t be placing your success in the hands of someone else.
Take some advice from Richard J. Machowicz, a retired navy SEAL and author of Unleash the Warrior Within. This is, in my opinion one of the best self-help books ever written. It is simple, clear, and to-the-point. Mr. Machowicz focuses less on theories and more on specific actions you can take. This makes sense, since the Navy SEALS don’t execute operations in theory. They take action.
The Navy SEALS are notorious for getting the job done, for winning. Advantage stacking is one of the strategies they use. Mr. Machowicz describes it like this:
You want to stack so many of the advantages in your favor that, when the order comes, when the opportunity presents itself, you can’t help but win. Every successful person, whether they realize it or not, stacks advantages. We never used this term in the teams, but this was what we were doing every minute of the day.
One of the best ways to stack advantages in any area of life is to educate yourself. Learn new skills that will help you in areas where you are trying to achieve a goal. Find someone who is already successful and partner with them, bring them on as a mentor if possible. Don’t get caught up in constant analysis, but make sure you have enough information to take the next step. There will always be some unknowns, but the idea is to give yourself as many advantages for success as possible.
If you are looking to make more money, you can stack advantages in many ways. Before getting into any business venture, learn as much as you can about the industry. Do your due diligence and research. Brainstorm all the things you will need to know before you begin. Get opinions from BOTH sides. For example, many people shun MLM and network marketing, but many others are very successful in the industry. Whether its network marketing or some other business, find out why people succeed in this particular industry, and why some people fail. This will tell you where you need to focus your efforts, and the pitfalls you can avoid.
Very often, I will begin doing work on a business before I start it. Before beginning this blog, I made a list of article ideas, then wrote a number of articles. This told me whether I would have enough content to publish and if I would enjoy doing the work. As I was studying how to create successful blogs, I also learned about keyword research. So I did keyword research on my articles, to find out if I would be able to get them ranked in search engines and be able to generate traffic.
Now these are just some examples. When you have a new goal, or an existing goal that you are struggling with, start by brainstorming all the ways you could stack advantages. Every situation is different, so there will be different ways to do this.
Nothing is a guarantee, that’s why its called “advantage stacking” and not “guaranteed success”. But whatever goal you have, do something to stack your advantages. Do one thing. When you have that in place, do another. Then another, and another. That’s why its called “stacking”. One thing won’t cut it, stack as many as possible, and continue stacking as you get closer and closer to your goal. Eventually, you will win, just like a Navy SEAL.

Great info Jason,
Most people don’t realize that to be successful, it takes work. Not just signing up for an opportunity. You also have to have that entrepreneurial mindset. So you can visualize your future, giving you the ability to keep on brainstorming all the ways you could stack advantages. I look forward to all your posts

[...] Stack advantages in your favor. In many situations, the planning you do beforehand will have a lot to do with how much stress you feel. For example, if you are hosting a home party, gather as much information as you can and have everything ready to go as early as possible. This will give you more faith that you have the situation under control. [...]
